We drove down Highway 169 to Mankato to catch the afternoon Viking Training Camp practice session at Mankato State University. We arrived just as the Vikings players were coming out of the locker room and heading for the field. We made our way thru the Viking Village gift shops and found a position along the side of the practice field. We witnessed stretching exercise, then the kickers trying field goals and punts. Then the offensive drills with the 1st, 2nd & 3rd units taking turns. Next we saw Head Coach Tice giving pass blocking instructions. We noticed the offense with white and defense with purple uniforms. All of the quarterbacks had red shirts and the defense used gold baggies over their helmets. Jane thought the players looked small.
