We flew into Chicago on Labor Day and spent the night so we could apply on Tuesday for European Visas at the French Consulate for Jane and Mama. We spent a few hours in the Art Institute of Chicago, paying special attention to the Chinese section that contained a famous painting of Chairman Mao. We shopped and had lunch in Chinatown.
