We flew into New York City early morning and took the subway into downtown Manhattan. After checking into the Milford Plaza hotel we took the subway down to the Battery at the south end of Manhattan to get a distant view of the Statue of Liberty. Then we visited Ground Zero to pay our respects. That evening we met Ji Li a friend of Jane's in Chinatown where we shopped. Jane and Ji ate in Chinatown, but Bill and John ate at Luna's in Little Italy. The next day we met Bill's sister Ruth and had lunch with her, then walked over to see the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center.
