Beijing '08
Bill, Jane & John
Sep 20-25, 2008
John made his first trip to China and we had First Class seats over and back, John thought that it was like a recliner with a waitress delivering food and drinks.  After the first few days in Beijing, John said "China is Big" and "I walked almost 30 miles a day".  That is because we sent him on walking tours of the Great Wall and Forbidden City, then we went with him to the Summer Palace.  In Tiananmen Square we were delayed a half hour because young girls were lined up to have their friends take a picture of them standing with John.   Sister-in-Law was our tour guide and took us to many famous parks.  We visited the Olympic sites and saw the Bird Cage and the Aquatics Center.  We ate at Bianyifang the first restaurant specializing in Peking Duck, established in Beijing in 1416.  We all dressed as royalty to have our pictures taken and we shopped till we were all ready to drop.  One day for lunch we had camel hump, I thought it was too tough.
