Mama (Wenxiu Yu) was born 1932 in Dalian. Her father was Bentong Yu and her mother was Zhongyu Wong. She went to Luda Teachers College and became a middle school math teacher.
She married Guojin Song and they had four children, Yude Song, Yucai Song, Yuzhen “Jane” Song and Yumin Song. She has three grandchildren, Xiang “Bill” Song (son of Yude and Fengqin Liu), Tianchi “Danny” Shao (son of Yumin and Yong “David” Shao) and John Fraser (son of Yuzhen and Bill Fraser). Mama retired as a middle school principal. Papa was a Physics professor at Tianjin Teachers College.
Now she lives have a year in China and half a year in Eagan, MN with Yuzhen and Bill. Mama enjoys traveling with her daughter Yuzhen and has been to Europe, Canada and many, many states in the United States
